jaaaaammmm.

The comments on this video are great. "i like the part where she has her a machines on the table and her b machines in the drawer" and "Its funny, I was just asking myself 'why dont more bands sound like electrocuted shit?'"

Okay, so I think the kids of Sleigh Bells take themselves waaaayyy too seriously. I just watched the video for "Infinity Guitars," and they are clearly too cool for their own good, but I enjoy them nonetheless. They're playing a seriously sold out show with LCD Soundsystem at the naval yard tonight. It's just another case of obnoxious fans ruining an otherwise okay band for me. But let's be serious, neither one of them is doing anything earth shattering. Just some solid danceable jams.

Feeling a little salty this morning. Clearly.

Also, I found a new favorite blog: it's mary ruffle.

longwood.

Some things that I saw and loved at Longwood Gardens today:
(My haphazard photography certainly does them no justice)

Photobucket
A room of orchids. Smells incredible. (And a funny old man that wouldn't get out of my way.)

Photobucket
An 81 year old Chinese elm bonsai.

Photobucket
More bonsais. Don't remember what these were. Just loved the idea of a little mini forest with mini ferns and mosses too.

Photobucket
I feel like the desert is calling me. The room of cacti and succulents might have been my favorite.

Photobucket
Topiaries. There's a little bit of a fairytale theme here with topiaries and mini forests and towers and waterfalls and so on.

Photobucket
The chime tower.

Photobucket
The staircase inside the chime tower.

Photobucket
Water flowing from the eye and into the gardens.

Photobucket
Giant lily pads.

Photobucket
More giant lily pads. I tried to get a good shot of the root system. Really unbelievable.

Photobucket
Inside the conservatory.

Photobucket
And another from inside the conservatory.

Photobucket
A butterfly in the meadow. She was so patient for me.

Photobucket
On the edge of the gardens. This is someone's backyard.

Photobucket
Took a stroll through the meadow. Heard critters rustling in the bushes the whole way strolling along with us.

The Italian water garden. By far and away my favorite part of the gardens. In this case more than any other, my lack of any real photography skills is especially disappointing.
